Obsoletion and Total Dominance: Governance in Post-Modern Societies

Date

September 2022

Location

Chicago

The south of Chicago is one of most dangerous locations not only in the city but in the whole country. The paradoxical combination of total control and abandonment engendered social issues like gun violence and drug abuse in the communities. This project is an analogical presentation of this typical post-modern form of governance. The absolute control of the inmates in the building is achieved by the monitoring from the watchtowers that stand at center of each units. The abandonment means that the circulation of the inmates and the officials running the building will not intersect, and the officials will never intervene the lives in the inner circles unless they find evidence of prison break. In conclusion, the dominance here is for not to dominate.
